The Morning Grind is on the road today for a FIESTA! It’s Cinco de Mayo, and I NEEDED a margarita. If you didn’t know, every day is Cinco de Mayo when you visit Los Jimadores.
You can find LJ’s (as my wife and I call it), on North University near Pioneer Parkway, and at their new location in Bradley’s Campustown!
My wife and I come here at least once a week. We absolutely love it! Here are five reasons why I think it’s the best Mexican restaurant in central Illinois!
The Atmosphere
When you look around at Los Jimadores, you see decorations and paintings that scream hispanic heritage. They even have parties for soccer games and boxing matches on the weekend! Whether you want to stop by for a quick meal, or have a few margaritas with friends, Los Jimadores is a great place for the whole family.
Friendly Staff
The staff at Los Jimadores is awesome! The staff is so friendly, you feel like you are family as soon as you walk in the door. They make sure you never leave disappointed! And trust me, you never will.
Food
Fajita quesadillas! Texas Fajitas! Tacos! QUESO FUNDIDO! It’s the best here at Los Jimadores! My favorite part thing to order is the Texas Fajitas. It comes with chicken, steak, and shrimp. Plus, guac, sour cream, beans, and rice… Cheesy, beefy, or spicy, whatever you like, you will love to order at Los Jimadores. The best part? The prices. Everyone eats well and no one cries when the check comes.
Chips & Salsa
My wife have been to every Mexican restaurant in central Illinois! We had to make sure Los Jimadores was the best. We have had margaritas, food, and chips and salsa at all of them. While they are all good, hands down, Los Jimadores is the best! The chips are always warm and the salsa is always smooth. If you are feeling crazy, get the queso fundido! It’s queso with chorizo in it, and it’s muy bien!
Margaritas
Lets face it, every Mexican restaurant has margaritas. BUT, the margaritas at Los Jimadores are the best! Why? The taste. They are delicious!!!! Frozen, on the rocks, salt/no salt, strawberry, lime, and more… They are just the best! They even have margaronas. You haven’t had a margarona? You NEED to.
