Is Summer Better For Grilling Or Ice Cream?

My wife the other day said she, “Can’t stand summer.” After how hot it got this past week, you can’t really blame her. I know many are quick to defend, “But if it weren’t for summer, we couldn’t have boating, and camping, and grilling, and ice cream!”

I’ve lived everywhere from the West Coast to East Coast, the South to Midwest, and Upper Midwest. Can honestly say, you might be a little nuts if you’ve ever enjoyed a summer west of the Continental Divide, and north of the Mason/Dixon line, and then went back to living summers elsewhere.

But the Midwest is home for us, and we’re used to these hot and humid summers. It’s part of who we are.

It is nice to be able to spend more time outdoors without being bundled up, and jumping into cool bodies of water with mostly nothing on. However, when it’s cold, you can always add more layers, when it’s HOT there’s only so naked we’re socially allowed to get.

How do you spend your summer days? What’s the better part of summer for you, grilling or ice cream? Sure, technically we can still enjoy both year round, but don’t they just seem better in the summer? What is your favorite summer activity?
