Happy International Women’s Day! A day like many other holidays like Mother’s Day that should be celebrated everyday.

To me it is a shock that in 2017, we still have to talk about providing equal opportunities for women.  I hope that this conversation will become more of a “Remember when” sooner than later.  While there are many issues that could be discussed for an extended amount of time the wage gap is one the comes to mind most often.

It is easy for me to think that people doing the same task should be paid the same.  It is also easy for me to see that someone that does more work than another or has a higher position should be paid more.  To me that is just common sense.  I also understand that not everyone thinks that same as I do.

I could sit and write about this for days, but the important thing is that we continue to talk about these issues.  If these issues do not affect you directly, they surely affect someone close to you.

Take some time to honor the women in your life today.
