Make today the day you join the fight! The fight to end hunger.
The 28th Annual Stuff-A-Bus is underway with Kroger and CityLink. And the goal is to restock the shelves at the Peoria Friendship House, which served 83,000 meals this year. The crazy part about that is it only lasted for 6 months.
Last year we collected 11 tons of food, so this year we need to collect at least 12. And we can’t do it with out YOU!
Here is what we are looking to collect:
– Canned Meat
– Beef Stew
– Tuna
– Canned Chili
– Peanut Butter
– Canned fruits/veggies/soup
– Pasta
– Rice
– Cereal
– Baby food
Donations will be collected at all Peoria Kroger locations and the Kroger store in East Peoria during the entire month of November. The final tonnage of food collected during the campaign will be announced at a press conference on December 1.
Stop out for the kickoff at 10am at the Kroger on Lake. Get all the details on what to expect this next month, the goals for this years Stuff A Bus, and check out the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile!
Did you know that 1 in 7 people in Illinois are at risk of hunger and lack access to adequate access to the food they need to lead healthy, active lives? What’s even scarier is that 1 in 5 children are also going without proper nutrition. Hungry children are more likely to have trouble concentrating, get headaches and infections, be hospitalized and are less likely to perform well on athletic fields and in classrooms. It’s simply much harder for children at risk of hunger to thrive.
Lets make 2015 the year that we change this statistic for the better and end hunger in central Illinois!
Be the difference in the fight against hunger and help us Stuff-A-Bus!
