Life is an amazing thing if you actually take the time to think about it. Somehow, someway, we exist! We are HERE! We may never find out why, but we can easily overlook how truly wonderful life is because of stress, depression, and confusion.

Sadly, some people never really get a chance to love life because they take it from themselves too soon. And as much fun as we like to have on Peoria’s 92.3, this is one of the more serious things that we want to help find ways to put an end to.

There is only one you. YOU are a beautiful person! But, you need to take the time to learn to love yourself, no matter what obstacles you may face in life.

Did you know suicide is the 10th leading cause of death for Americans? Did you also know that adults 45-64 have the highest rates of suicide? Followed by adults 85 – older. Young adults 15-24 came in third. It’s also 4 times higher in men than women. You can learn more here.

It’s time to change this and save lives!

Today is “World Suicide Prevention Day.” If you, or anyone you know, have ever had thoughts of taking your life, there is someone out there who loves you. Who cares. And who will listen if you have questions, or just need someone to talk to. And they are here in central Illinois!

The Mental Health Association of Illinois Valley is here to help for Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties. You can contact them 24/7 at  (309) 673-7373 or 1-800-784-2433!

You can even get involved to help raise money for awareness and prevention with groups like “Whitney’s Walk” that have helped raise over $1million to date.

Help save a life today! Reach out to someone who can help.

ORyan tha KANG!
