The Dunk To End All Dunks

In honor of throwback Thursday, I’m going to tell about a small piece of the year 1996. What on Earth happened in 1996 you may ask. Bill Clinton was president, the Nintendo 64 was released, and most importantly Space Jam made is historical debut.

I remember as a child going out, buying the movie on VHS, taking it home and watching it on repeat for days. I think everyone can agree that there is no movie that can get us more pumped up than that one. When the theme song would come on, my sister and I use to sprint through my living room shouting the words.

Grossing over 230 million dollars internationally, you can imagine this movie was one of the most popular basketball movies of all time. Recently, rumors of a second Space Jam have been circulating through social media. People have been saying they would like to see LeBron James as the star of course with Buggs Bunny.

I am most definitely not on board for LaBron, but I’m definitely on board with the second movie. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like basketball, I don’t watch basketball, and I don’t know many basketball players, but I really really really don’t like LeBron.

I’m sure you’re like, well if not LeBron then who?! Because LeBron is the best! Wrong, no. He’s not the best. I did however stumble across a video that could possibly be hinting at the next Space Jam.

The video stars Blake Griffin with Marvin the Martian in a slam dunk contest and the “Dunk to End All Dunks.” Really the video is a shoe commercial for Michael Jordan’s new shoes, but my theory is why would they have the cast of Space Jam in a shoe commercial unless they are making another Space Jam? Makes sense, I know..  Just to convince you of how right I am, watch this video and appreciate it.
