I’m a huge fan of the Walking Dead. So like any other fanatic, every Sunday at 7 I sit in front of my TV anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next season.
(And if you haven’t started watching, get yourself off here and over to Netflix and start binge watching your next favorite show. You won’t be disappointed. I promise.)
As we all know, Morgan showed up at the end of the season finale and gave Rick this ridiculous look that made us all wonder what was going to happen next. And of course as soon as Morgan sees Rick, the show is over for six months and we cry and cry until it comes back. But this time we might be a little less anxious come August.
We’ve all heard how the producers are making spin off of the Walking Dead and calling it Fear the Walking Dead. I don’t know about you guys but I’m slightly skeptical, mainly because the name is stupid. Like, obviously we all fear the walking dead. If you’re not afraid of walkers killing your family then you’re a liar. (I just call ’em as I see ’em). But not only the name has me kind of iffy, but also the setting. We are going from the backwoods of Atlanta, Georgia to Los Angeles, California. I can’t even imagine how they are going to relate them. (besides the walkers.. duh)
Rumor has it that this show is going to show us how and where the apocalypse started and what is happening there. That’s fair. I can live with that.. but I do have some concerns.
First of all, what about Daryl? That’s the biggest one actually. They are probably going to try and make “another Daryl” from LA and make him be the badass he is and try to impress everyone but they shouldn’t. Daryl is a redneck from the boonies in Georgia. I’ve never been to LA but I’m pretty sure you’re not going to find any of that there.
I guess that’s my only real concern. But I will be watching because I really do want to know how all this started. And if it’s the same people who produce The Walking Dead, it can’t be too bad. Besides this will be a good way to keep me distracted from missing the original show until it comes back on. Fear the Walking Dead premiers August 23. So don’t worry, you have plenty of time to get to Netflix and load up on all the walker killing and Daryl-ness before the premier of the new show! Happy watching!!
