Gilbert and Sullivan Spoof of Victorian Manners

A Gilbert and Sullivan Spoof of Victorian Manners ill be presented at the Dingledine Music Center on the Bradley University campus beginning at 7:30 pm. Admission is $5 for adults and free for students. First performed on April 23, 1881, this rollicking operetta pokes fun at the aesthetic craze of late 19th century England. Performed by Bradley University's Opera Workshop, under the direction of Kerry Walters, and the Bradley Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Tim Semanik. Tickets available at the door. The 34th Annual Congressional Art Show

Peoria Public Library Main Library Gallery. Please join the Peoria Public Library for the 34th Annual Congressional Art Show. Entries from high school students from the 18th Congressional District will be exhibited in the Art Gallery at the Peoria Public Library Main Library. Work on display will represent a variety of mediums. A closing reception for the exhibit will be held on April 18th at 10 am in the gallery. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 2 pm in the Auditorium. Hollywood in the Heights

Sketch, color, blend, and smooth your way to a stunning pastel drawing in this one-time workshop! Perfect Pastels is a great opportunity to dabble in a new medium or further your existing skills. Local artist and teacher Chris Holbrook will guide and advise as you work to create your own interpretation of the world around you. All skill levels are welcome; all materials are provided. Rockin' the House Family Dance Party

The Rockin' the House Family Dance Party will take place at Northminster Presbyterian Church (located at 10720 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) beginning at 6 pm. Enjoy dance performances from local groups including the Peoria Latin Vibe, Cornerstone Academy of Performing Arts, the Peoria Chinese Folk Dance Team, local school flag cadet corps and more and participate in the Mambo for Meals Community Line Dance, a flash mob style dance. Learn the line dance at 6:30 pm with a free dance lesson in preparation for the 8 pm dance. Desserts and soft drinks served throughout the evening: children are welcome. Springdale Cemetery Opening Day Clean-Up
