Peoria’s Annual Lawn Mower Clinic Returns April 11th

The event opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. with the last drop-off time for mowers scheduled at 10:00 a.m.  All mowers can be picked-up starting at 4:00 p.m. This year’s event is being brought back to Peoria under the direction of Central Illinois Disc Golf Association (CIDGA) – a new non-profit that was created to serve the needs of the Central Illinois disc golf community.

The event is open to the public and allows participants to drop off their push mowers and receive service that gets the mower ready for spring.  The $35 fee covers the following services: cleaning of mower deck and air filter, oil change, blades sharpening and the installation of new spark plugs. In addition to CIDGA, this year’s proceeds will benefit EPIC and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Men’s Club.

“I have been involved as the director of previous Lawn Mower Clinics when the Peoria Jaycee’s sponsored the event.  This event has always been such a popular event that gets a fantastic repeat turnout every year – people were really anxious to see it come back after sitting out a year.” says Tim Wright, president of CIDGA and the coordinator of this year’s event. “We are able to offer the public a great resource to get ready for spring all while donating the proceeds to local organizations.  You can’t ask for a better win-win event,” added Wright.

Wright goes on to state, “The Lawnmower Clinic is a true sign that spring has arrived. With the fantastic weather Central Illinois has been experiencing, we know people are ready to be working in their yards – so the timing couldn’t be better.”

Pre-registration for the event is encouraged and is available through the CIDGA website – www.cidga.org.
