She became the first artist to win the category twice, having previously won in 2024 for “Water”.[94] She won ahead of nominees including Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido, and Eddy Kenzo.[95] At the ceremony, Tyla announced her upcoming second studio album, A*Pop.[96] On 17 April 2026, the second single from A*Pop titled “She Did It Again“, featuring Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson, was released.[97] It peaked at number 59 on the US Billboard Hot 100,[98] and number two in Sweden.[99] Tyla later collaborated with Larsson on a remix of the track “Hot & Sexy” from the latter artist’s remix album, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip (2026), which was released on 1 May.[100] On 12 June, Tyla performed “Game Time” alongside Future at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States,[101] and the South African national anthem before the opening match between South Africa and Mexico.[102] On 8 July, she performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival.[103] The release of A*Pop followed on 24 July, featuring collaborations from Babalwa M, MaWhoo, Liquideep, and Larsson, and was met with positive reception from music critics.[104][105] On 25 July, Tyla performed a setlist of songs including “Chanel” at the WNBA All-Star Game halftime show.[106]
