What’s In Your Closet From The 2000’s?
A website has put out a list of 10 things from the 2000s that are now “collectible and valuable” . . . and it’s a bunch of junk that pretty much EVERYONE probably has packed away in their closet.
1. Tour merch. T-shirts, tour jackets, and other stuff from bands and artists.
2. iPhones. They can be really valuable if they’re still sealed, which would be strange to have, but even your used ones could be “well worth holding onto.”
3. iPods. Believe it or not, kids these days think old iPods are super hip.
4. Gaming Consoles. Like a Nintendo 64, especially if it’s in pristine condition.
5. First Editions. Like the original run of the “Harry Potter” books. As usual, the real money is in the mint condition copies, but ANY original is cool.
6. Pokémon Cards. This one is obvious. And your old collection may have a few unexpectedly-rare gems.
7. Tamagotchi. The “virtual pets” that were all the rage 20 to 30 years ago.
8. Lego Sets. Also not shocking, but you may not think about the old ones in your basement being worth something.
9. DVDs. Physical media is booming once again . . . with interest in CDs, vinyl LPs, Blu-rays, and DVDs all leading the way. Everyone has an old copy of “The Matrix” . . . but the less common titles and box sets may be sought after.
10. VHS. This is hard to believe . . . because even VHS players can be hard to find anymore . . . but supposed

Know A Conversational Narcissist?
“Conversational narcissism” is when someone turns every conversation back to themselves. A professor of psychiatry said it’s like a game of catch where one person never throws the ball back.Here are the biggest signs experts say to watch for:
1. The “Shift Response” . . . It’s where you share something, and they immediately shift it to themselves. No follow up questions, just right back to talking about them.
2. The “Pretending to Listen” Look . . . You can tell they’re not really listening. They’re just waiting for your mouth to stop moving so they can jump in.
3. The “Constant One-Upper” . . . This person is the worst. Whether you have good news or bad news, they’ll always top it.
If you’re ever unsure, just ask yourself this one question: Do you feel drained after? Because if you walk away feeling exhausted or unheard, that’s a big clue.
But experts say it’s not always ego that drives conversational narcissism. Sometimes it’s just nerves or insecurity.

The Bedtime Gap
According to a new report, the average couple often has a “bedtime gap” of 80 minutes. That’s the time in between each person going to bed. But couples with fewer bedtime gaps tend to be happier together. That extra “me-time” might be nice for unwinding . . . but the report found that couples with fewer bedtime gaps tend to be happier together. And “very happy” couples go to bed together about four times per week. 71% of couples who are BOTH night owls . . . and 78% of couples who are BOTH early birds . . . say they’re “very happy” in their relationship. That’s compared to 59% of couples with one night owl and one early bird. There was a difference based on age, though. Younger couples find it more important to lessen the bedtime gap, while it matters less to older folks.

A survey found around one in four people have broken up with someone the week before Valentine’s Day. “Star” magazine talked to a matchmaker who says it’s even more pronounced with NEW relationships. She says it’s most common with couples who are three to six months in. Or people who, quote, “don’t want to buy the gift or fake the romance.”

A new app called Endless Summer uses A.I. to create fake photos so it LOOKS like you went on vacation. There’s also a Halloween mode that puts you in costume, so it looks like you dressed up and went to a party. It’s called Endless Summer because it’s mainly meant for fake VACATION pics. You can try out either mode and do four photos for free. Then you have to pay if you want more.

Meet Dakota!
Kohler just debuted a new TOILET CAMERA that watches you go, then uses an algorithm to analyze the results and track your health. It’s called “Dekoda” . . . a play on the word “decode” . . . and costs $600. It fits on the side of most toilet bowls and uses optical sensors to scan your waste. Then it spits out stats on your phone. You sign in on a fingerprint scanner, so it knows whose waste it’s scanning. It can tell you whether you’re dehydrated, and what percentage of your “sessions” are “regular” each week. It also looks for signs of any BLOOD. They say don’t worry, there’s no chance of your JUNK showing up on camera. Quote, “Dekoda’s sensors see down INTO your toilet and nowhere else.”

Halloween is a lot of fun for kids . . . but forget about them for a second. Should adults get their own night to celebrate Halloween?The term “ADULToween” is back in the news. The folks at Ferrero candies got it trending last year. Their new poll found over HALF of adults think grown-ups should get their own night to celebrate Halloween without involving the kids. 54% wish it was a thing.Here are a few more stats on candy and Halloween-obsessed adults, 1. Most of us agree Halloween isn’t JUST for kids. 62% think it’s “as much for adults as it is for children.” That jumps to 71% for parents. 2. Most parents WILL steal from their kids’ candy stash. Two-thirds say they have the “right” to dip into their kid’s stash starting November 1st. 58% think they should also be allowed to dig in WHILE taking their kids trick-or-treating. 3. Whether you have kids or not, you’re probably eating candy this month. 64% of us will buy candy even if we’re not expecting trick-or-treaters. 71% of parents said they’ll buy extra candy for themselves “just in case.” 4. The candy we’re most likely to steal? 76% said full-sized candy bars are their top choice . . . 72% prefer “familiar flavors” over new types . . . and 67% still prefer nostalgic favorites from their own childhood. 5. Men take Halloween a little more seriously. 52% splurge on premium candy to make sure they’re a “good candy house,” compared to 41% of women. 21% of men and 15% of women will also pass judgement on their neighbors if the candy they hand out sucks.

The Fall Of Pumpkin Spice
Is America’s love affair with pumpkin spice drawing to a close? No, it’s still beloved. But not by as many as it used to be. The first day of fall is still over a month out. (September 22nd) But an early poll for it found 58% of Americans think pumpkin spice is NOT the best fall flavor.
Congrats, Your Not Really Fired, But You Gotta Go
Companies are so passive aggressive now. A poll by the site Resume Builder found 38% of companies lay people off instead of firing them . . . just to avoid hurting people’s FEELINGS. 80% of bosses said their company has laid someone off in the past year when they could have fired them for cause. Sometimes it’s out of kindness, like to avoid hurt feelings or help out with severance. But the #1 reason they do it is more self-serving .
1. To maintain company morale. 62% of bosses cited it as a reason. So, we react better if we think our friend got laid off because the money just wasn’t there.
2. To avoid wrongful termination lawsuits. A close second at 59%.
3. To help the person out with a severance package, 54%. So, that one’s nice.
4. To avoid hurting their feelings, 38%. The old line, “You know I think you’re great. Corporate just gave me no choice.”
According to the poll, layoffs that aren’t REALLY layoffs are more common than you’d think. Half of the bosses polled said at least 75% of layoffs their company made in the past year weren’t really about cutting costs.
