Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
FYI, it’s NOT the Hispanic Independence Day. It’s actually a day to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla in 1862!
It became a huge drinking holiday around 1980 when liquor companies realized they could make some money! And, we will consume more alcohol today than on Super Bowl Sunday. Ay caramba!
If you are looking to make a delicious meal for Cinco de Mayo, here are 10 mexican foods. No Tex-Mex. This is the real deal!
There is a 2nd video with recipes and “how-to” with a few other traditional recipes.
If you don’t want to cook, then join us tonight at Mariachi’s Mexican Restaurant to win Nelly tickets and have a celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Get the details here.
Enjoy! Salude.
