So if anyone has been following this nightmare of a time we call politics, you may have recently seen the speech given by Melania Trump and it’s “similarities” to a speech given in 2008 by Michelle Obama. Social media ate this right up and called out the speech first chance they got. Videos have been put together side by side as well as recorded transcripts of their speeches showing the almost word for word peaces of the speech. But even after all of this blatant evidence, the entire Trump campaign team refuses to acknowledge the similarities. They even go as far as to seem insulted at the notion. Before the conference, a brief interview was taken with Donald and Melania where she stated that she wrote the speech on her own with little to no help. Now we all know that many politicians don’t write their speeches anymore. They are usually equipped with a team of writers who take precautions as to not let this type of plagiarism happen. Now whether she actually wrote her speech or not is still yet to be determined, but the Trump campaign team said that they will not be taking any action to fire anyone over the mishap. Rest assured that who ever made the mistake knows they f’ed up. This is why your teachers in high school and college always said “DO NOT PLAGERIZE!” To all the English teachers out there, we feel your pain.
