As a young woman I worry about my safety. With all the horrible things on the news every night how could you not? It’s not a constant worry but I do think about it a lot. I try to be aware of my surroundings, and I never leave my house without pepper spray. I even took some kickboxing classes when I started college. Even with all of that I still a petite woman who could be easily over powered.

I am always on the look out for ways to keep my friends and myself safe. This video has some great advice. Don’t walk out to your car with your nose in your phone, instead look ahead to your car get in it and lock the doors. Even if you aren’t in a dangerous area it’s still a good habit to have. Also if for some reason you are ever locked in a trunk and you can’t find a release lever one well placed kick and the taillight will pop out so you can stick your arm out to signal for help.
