This past Monday, the Captain America: Civil War’s European premiere was held in London. While devoted fans waited for up to nine hours to see the movie and catch a glimpse of the stars in the film, actor Robert Downey Jr. made a visit to a few special fans who could not attend the premiere.

Hours before the premiere, Downey visited the Great Ormond Street Hospital and spent some time with a few of the hospital’s younger patients. One being 7-year-old Ethan Miller who suffers from a rare blood disease and who also has type 1 diabetes. Ethan was dressed up as Iron Man- his favorite Marvel superhero- and posed for pictures with Downey.

According to Ethan’s father, Lee Miller,

Ethan was over the moon to meet his hero and it has really helped to lift his spirits.

In addition to chatting and posing for pictures with several other children, Downey spent the afternoon handing out movie merchandise and making patients smile. Disney has worked with the hospital’s charity since 2008 and organized the visit.
